In the "Project ASM Optimiser" we tackle the challenge of optimizing quadratic cost functions using assembly language to implement gradient descent. Conducted as part of the Computer Organisation module at NUS, this project required us to develop a highly efficient assembly subroutine that minimizes the cost function by accurately calculating the optimal parameter settings. By mirroring the logic of the C function "optimize_c_rounded" and aiming to achieve even greater precision, our assembly implementation not only demonstrates the power of low-level programming in handling complex mathematical operations but also underscores the potential for significant performance enhancements in computational tasks. This work highlights our methodological approach, our adaptations to the traditional gradient descent algorithm, and our strategic use of assembly language to enhance computational efficiency and accuracy.

For the Huawei Smart Bin project, I crafted a streamlined web interface using Flutter, enhancing the user experience with intuitive design and responsiveness across devices. The site features an interactive, dynamic layering effect that simulates a parallax experience, emphasizing the bin’s smart capabilities. I integrated advanced machine learning algorithms, developed with PyTorch, to enable sophisticated waste sorting and categorization. This blend of Flutter and PyTorch demonstrates my commitment to leveraging cutting-edge technology to deliver both functionality and aesthetic refinement in environmental solutions.

This collaboration is more than just logistical work; it's about empowering the children at the orphanage by offering them access to tools and resources that can open doors to new opportunities. Through our shared efforts, we aim to inspire these young individuals to dream bigger and realize their potential in a world where they can thrive.

This project involves a tele-operated robot named "Alex," equipped with advanced sensor technologies to navigate a 7x5 grid maze. Key components include a forward-facing LIDAR for real-time mapping and an ultrasonic sensor for precise distance measurements. Using Hector SLAM, the robot manually plots the environment while identifying colored objects. Communication between a Raspberry Pi and Arduino is established through USART, allowing for efficient control and sensor data processing. Alex's teleoperation utilizes VNC and SSH protocols for remote control, and its movement and detection systems are tightly integrated to achieve real-time task execution within 8 minutes.

The Amazing Race

In the "The A-maze-ing Race" project, I developed a robot that autonomously navigates through a maze using a combination of sensors and efficient control algorithms. The robot was built using an mCore microcontroller, equipped with ultrasonic and infrared (IR) sensors for obstacle detection, and a custom-built color sensor for recognizing waypoints. The robot's movement was controlled by H-Bridge chips and DC motors, while RGB LEDs facilitated color-based decision-making. We utilized Arduino for programming the logic, which included fine-tuning the robot’s path correction using sensor feedback and calibrating the IR and color sensors to ensure accurate navigation. Our system seamlessly integrated sensor data, control logic, and real-time adjustments to solve the maze efficiently.
